Loon Lake is a community of 390 residents located between beautiful lakes, farmland and the lush boreal forest in Northwest Saskatchewan. It is adjacent to the Makwa Lake Provincial Park, Steele Narrows Provincial Park and the Bronson Forest Recreation Site.

Located only 2 miles from the popular Makwa Provincial Park with its 300 campsites and a challenging 9 hole golf course (one of the best in the Northwest). This is cabin country - there are currently over 400 cabins on Makwa and Jumbo Lake. You'll know you're here when you first hear the haunting and beautiful cry of the loon on a still night...this is a peaceful place to spend your time.

Loon Lake RCMP welcome the public from all communities we serve to attend the Spring Town Hall Meeting. In addition to an update on crime trends and the current status of policing in the area, the Town Hall will also include presentations from three important partners of the Loon Lake Detachment:

-       Crime Reduction Team Commander: Sgt Ken Aspen

-       Police Dog Master – Cpl Doug Cushon

Media Release 

On January 31st, 2019 around 2am, Loon Lake RCMP responded to a residence in the Village of Loon Lake for a complaint. Once inside the residence, numerous weapons were located by RCMP. 24 year old Talon Rollheiser was arrested at the house. A subsequent search led to two axes, an extendable baton, a bow, and two sawed off rifles being seized in addition to drug paraphernalia.

Rollheiser has been charged with multiple firearms and weapons offences, trafficking in crystal meth, and failing to comply with his release conditions. He has been remanded to appear in Meadow Lake Provincial Court on February 4th/19

On January 23rd/19 Loon Lake RCMP were notified of a significant theft from a local business overnight. Just under $8000 was taken. Investigation led to a suspect being identified and 32 year old Craig Morningchild has been arrested and charged with theft over $5000.
